The Soldiers dance. ( For those who never came home)

When the night is young they begin to gather round
A mating call for one and all it starts with a sound
Impress them you must as the ritual nears the hour
No time to be shy now take heart and show some valour

A sacred dance that many do, looks to astound
All around there's the magical sound of feet on the ground

In the moonlight they dance twisting and turning
Hoping to get the chance they've been yearning
Seeing the beauty of the chosen makes you feel so good
Without avail hoping that chance will make love bud

A sacred dance that many do, looks to astound
All around there's the magical sound of feet on the ground

So many times the ritual has come, a long held tradition
Before the warriors set forth to their latest mission
The romance so delicate here is hardly brave and savage
For some it's their last, for them old age will never savage

A sacred dance that many do, looks to astound
All around there's the magical sound of feet on the ground

Come forward you young let the love making be done
Take your partner for life a husband or wife, do not shun
An urgency now to stand forth and take the vow
Your time has come don't be undone you time is right now

This is lovely. I'm guessing by the chorus that it was written as a song lyric but it's so relevant because this year is the one hundredth anniversary of the first world war.

I searched for ages to get one that did justice to the soldiers and their loved ones
